This upcoming Sunday, April 13 from 11 am to 12:30 pm, a volunteer Trail Work Event will take place at Fitzgerald Tract. Volunteers will meet at the large Fitzgerald parking area off Beecher Road.
Fitzgerald trail work will focus on:
- assembling an 8-foot boardwalk and installing it over a wet part of the Blue Trail that leads to Beecher Road.
- finishing the Red Trail relocation into the woods adjacent to the Community Gardens.
For this event and throughout the year, volunteers are needed to help maintain and keep our wonderful Woodbridge trails in good shape. Trail maintenance, led by the Trail Master Andy Danzig, generally takes place the second Sunday of each month from 11 am - 12:30 pm. A different trail location is tackled each month.
Volunteer should have sturdy footwear and work gloves. Leather gloves are recommended
as some plants have thorns. Useful tools to bring include pruning saws, pruners, loppers, pick or mattock, and a spade. A limited number of tools will be available for use.
To volunteer, sign up at: https://woodbridgetrails.org/events-and-activities/. Please expect to receive a monthly email with upcoming trail work, tools to bring, and meeting location. Feel free to invite others!
Specific trail issues should be reported to trailmaster@woodbridgect.org.
