Effective immediately, First Selectman Mica Cardozo has declared a State of Emergency and has issued a ban on ALL outdoor fires in the Town of Woodbridge due to the extreme fire danger conditions across the State of Connecticut. This ban is in alignment with the state-wide restriction issued by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) as well as the Red Flag Warnings issued by the National Weather Service to mitigate wildfire risk and preserve public safety.
All open burning permits will be denied during the State of Emergency. Residents are asked to immediately report any signs of brush fires by dialing 9-1-1.
The following activities are prohibited during the burn ban:
- Use of outdoor fire pits, chimineas, open burns, or campfires
- Any previously -permitted fires
- Any open flames outdoors.
