Working with the Economic Development Commission, the Town is inviting local business representatives to a business happy hour on Wednesday Oct. 5 at Solun Tapas Bar & Restaurant.
At this Business After Hours at Solun Tapas (245 Amity Road), happy hour specials will be on offer from 5-6:30 p.m. Admission is free to this event.
The goal is to bring the business community together to learn about and from each other. If you or someone from your business plans on attending this event, please contact Assistant Administrative Officer Betsy Yagla at byagla@woodbridgect.org.
Businesses are also encouraged to build a business-themed scarecrow. Straw and scarecrow frames will be provided; attendees should bring the clothing and accessories.
Those attending the event will be asked for feedback on two concepts for a potential wayfinding signage program for the business district. The signage program is designed to help guide visitors and residents to the Town’s many amenities, including shops and restaurants.
“Supporting our local businesses is very important for our Town,” said First Selectman Ellen Scalettar. “These happy hours are a great way for our business community members to network in a local, relaxed setting.”
Previous Woodbridge Business After Hours events have been held at the JCC, Grimaldi’s Pizza and New England Brewing.
Additionally, the First Selectman has been visiting local businesses to highlight them as part of the “Shop Woodbridge, Dine Woodbridge, Try Woodbridge” campaign. The Town’s Economic Development Commission has been inviting new and expanding businesses to its monthly meetings in order to learn about those businesses and why they chose Woodbridge.
