Committee Charge

The charge to the Committee is to:
  •  identify and assess issues related to diversity and inclusion, or the lack thereof, of concern to Town residents and employees and as experienced by them;
  •  prioritize the identified issues and establish the order in which the Committee should focus on them;
  • delve more deeply into the issues in the order prioritized by the Committee;
  • determine steps that would ameliorate problems identified and enhance diversity and inclusion in our Town;
  • report to the Board of Selectmen monthly on the activities, progress and recommendations of the Committee.

Diversity Statement

The Town of Woodbridge Ad Hoc Committee on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is dedicated to enhancing diversity and advancing equity and inclusion in all aspects of our Town life. Our focus on diversity includes, but is not limited to, disability status, ethnic/racial identity, gender/gender identity, immigration status, religion, sexual identity and socioeconomic status. We will identify and support efforts to build a community that values and celebrates the diversity and contributions of all residents, employees, and visitors and that promotes and welcomes increasing diversity in all its forms. We are committed to building a Town and Town government where all members of our strong and vibrant community are equally valued and equitably represented. Through a sustained commitment to identifying and addressing issues of diversity in all forms, we aspire to create a more inclusive, safe, and welcoming Woodbridge.

Woodbridge Like Me Day

On Saturday, September 30, 2023, the Committee on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion will hold its third annual Woodbridge Like Me DayStay tuned for more details. This community event features live performances, activities, local organizations and clubs, music, food trucks and more.
