Lifesaving Training at the Library on November 21

Woodbridge News Posted on November 14, 2025

Potential lifesaving training will take place in the Woodbridge Library on Friday, November 21 from 3 to 4:30 pm.

According to the CDC, suicide is one of the leading causes of death in the United States, and rates are rising among teens and adults under 35. To help combat this crisis, the Woodbridge Town Library has partnered with the Quinnipiac Valley Health District to offer QPR suicide prevention training.

QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer—the three simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help.

As seating is limited, registration is required. Sign up here or call Adult Services at 203-389-3434.
