For the month of July, the Woodbridge Town Library continues the retrospective show of Helen Alexander’s paintings and drawings. A wide range of works from all the periods of her professional life are on display. In the meeting room are a selection of color ink and watercolor still lives on paper from her great series of the 1970s and ‘80s: the fruit, hats, gourds and cups which constitute her best-known works, exhibited and sold in her 5 solo and 3 group shows in New Haven. Upstairs, in the curved hallway around the bookstore, are earlier, more experimental and more personal works, including quick studies from life, landscapes and abstract paintings.

Hamburgers and hot dogs will be served.

The Woodbridge Library Farmers’ Market returns on Tuesday nights in July & August on the Town Green, 5:30 - 8 pm. Market Dates are: July 3, 10, 17, 24, & 31 and August 7, 14, 21, & 28. In July, the market will coincide with the summer concerts so you can enjoy live music while shopping for fresh produce and a variety of goods from local businesses. Children’s Programs begin at 5:30 pm during the following markets: July 3 - Ed Pop Balloon Animals, Aug. 7 - Toe Jam Puppet Band, Aug. 14 - Circle K Petting Zoo, Aug. 21 - The Marvelous Mutts. In August, two concerts & two outdoor movies will coincide with the end of the Farmers’ Market. Bring a blanket or chairs and enjoy the show! August performances are: August 7: Goza Latin Band concert at 6:30 pm, August 14: Belle of the Fall - Simon and Garfunkel tribute at 6:00 pm, August 21: Moana film screening at sunset, August 28: Black Panther film screening at sunset.

The George Gritzbach Band is a Blues/Retro R&B band. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held in the Center Gym.
