Woodbridge First Selectman Beth Heller announces that beginning tomorrow, Feb. 16, she is rescinding the emergency order requiring masks in indoor settings.
"This was a temporary, emergency order aimed at keeping our residents safe," said First Selectman Beth Heller. "The COVID-19 positivity rate is improving and I feel confident the numbers will continue to decline. Although masks will no longer be required I encourage people to continue to wear them if they prefer to."
In municipal buildings masks will no longer be required starting March 1 for vaccinated staff and visitors. Unvaccinated staff and visitors age 2 and up will be required to wear a mask. This date coincides with the Governor’s expiration of the mask requirement in public schools.
In-person board and commission meetings may resume after the Town is in the “yellow” category for three weeks according to the State Department of Public Health color-coded COVID map. Current State law allows virtual meetings through April 30.
