Call of Annual Town Meeting

7:30 P.M., MONDAY, MAY 17, 2021


Electors and citizens qualified to vote in a Town Meeting of the Town of Woodbridge are hereby notified and warned that the Annual Town Meeting will be held on Monday, May 17, 2021, at 7:30 p.m.  In accordance with Governor Lamont’s Executive Orders 11, 7B, 7I, and 9H, Section 1, the Annual Town Meeting will be held via remote technology.  This will allow those qualified to vote in the Town Meeting the opportunity to participate in the Annual Meeting remotely and offer public comments.  Residents and Taxpayers interested in listening to and/or participating in the Annual Town Meeting on Monday, May 17, 2021, 7:30 P.M. should visit the Town website ( to find details for participating prior to the meeting.  The sole item on the Call of the Annual Town Meeting is the Board of Finance recommended budget for FY2022 and the Board of Selectmen encourages public participation.

In addition to participating in the May 17, 2021, Annual Town Meeting by remote technology, the Public may submit email comments to the Town at prior to the meeting.  The proposed budget for FY2022 is posted on the Town website at under the heading “Annual Town Meeting”.  In person participation in the Annual Town Meeting will not be permitted.

If anyone knows of someone who cannot access the document online and needs a printed copy or cannot access the information to  participate remotely, please call the First Selectman’s Office at 203-389-3401.

  1. To Act on the FY2022 Budget as recommended by the Board of Finance in the total amount of $51,566,481.  The Board of Finance recommendations are those presented at the Preliminary Budget Hearing on April 19, 2021.
  2. Other business as proper to come before the meeting.

Section 6-2(h) of the Charter of the Town of Woodbridge provides that each and every recommended budget item shall be considered and that the budget as recommended by the Board of Finance shall be deemed to have been appropriated unless the sum is increased, decreased, or eliminated by 1) a vote of the Town meeting with not less than 250 eligible voters present and voting; 2) the votes in favor of the motion to increase, decrease, or eliminate constitute not less than 60% of the total number of votes cast; 3) no recommended budget item may be increased to an amount greater than the original request for appropriation filed pursuant to Section 6-2.
