GOVERNMENT ACCESS TELEVISION COMMISSION
WGATV production area in Town Hall
Woodbridge Government Access Television (WGATV) was started in 2000-2001 by arrangement with Cablevision of Southern Connecticut by the ad hoc Government Access Television Oversight Committee (GATVOC). WGATV provides programs and information about town and local government on channel 79, seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
Since May 2006, WGATV has been overseen by the Government Access Television Commission (GATCom).
The Schedule:
The latest schedule can be found on our blog. Programming can change at the last minute, depending on length of meetings and what’s available. Our regular schedule runs roughly:
Monday.................. most recent Woodbridge Board of Ed meeting at 6am and 6pm
Tuesday................. most recently available Amity Board of Ed meeting at 6am and 6pm
Wednesday............ most recent Board of Selectman meeting at 6am and 6pm
Thursday................ most recent Board of Finance meeting at 6am and 6pm
Friday.................... most recent land board meeting (TPZ, Inland Wetlands or ZBA) at 6am and 6pm
Saturday/ Sunday... a cycle of the most recent or most relevant town meetings/events and/or occasional public affairs programs produced elsewhere.
The most recent meeting of the above Boards might also run at 12noon, weekdays. In between, we may play that board’s meeting of the previous month or a meeting from another town commission. Other commissions—Library, Recreation, Beecher Building Committee, GATCom, Fire, Police, etc.—are recorded when personnel are available, and scheduled for replay when there’s time.
Live Carriage of Meetings is only possible from the Town Hall main meeting at this time.
No internet programming is available at this time. DVD copies of most programs are sent to the town library—ask for them at the reference desk.
We have procedures for requesting that an event be recorded and for requesting copies of past programs, subject to approval by the commission and to the limits of our resources. Woodbridge residents with questions are welcome to contact the coordinator by e-mail (with “WGATV” or "79" in the subject line).
Recent televised meetings are now available for viewing on the internet, click here to be directed to the WGATV blogspot.
