Location: New Haven County
South Central Connecticut
Bordered by Ansonia, Bethany, Derby, Hamden, New Haven, Orange & Seymour

Size: 19.2 square miles
12,352 Acres

Population: 9,426 (Town Census 1998)

Major Highways: Route 15 - Wilbur Cross, Merritt Parkway runs through parts of and borders southern part of Town
Route 63 and 69 - North - Southeast through Woodbridge
Route 114 - runs west from Route 63 and then south to Orange border
Route 67 - runs west from Route 63 and then northwest to Seymour border
Route 243 - runs east and west
Route 313 - runs northwest from 243 to Seymour border

Land use: The majority of land is used for residential housing with 1.5 acres minimum. The exception is in the southeast corner of the Town where there is city water and sewer, and some available lots having 4,000 - 10,000 square feet. Also, the southeast corner of the Town is zoned for light industry and other commercial development.

Natural Features: Rolling hills. Bordered on the east by West Rock ridge. Streams and rivers traverse the Town.
West River - runs through and out of three reservoirs in the eastern section of the Town. This river runs through the commercial development area of the Town.
Wepawaug River - small stream that runs southeast to the border of Orange, Connecticut through residential area.
