    Sponsored by Griffin Hospital & Area Agency on Aging of S. Central CT. This Diabetes Prevention program will meet regularly on Wednesdays in The Center lounge beginning on Jan. 9th, 2019. The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention Program-National Diabetes Prevention Program can help individuals make a change for life! This program will offer lifestyle changes to help prevent Type II diabetes. Groups will meet for 16 weekly sessions. Includes 6 monthly follow up sessions with a trained lifestyle coach. This program costs up to $500 at other facilities.

  6. Join Massaro Community Farm in the Rock to Rock Earth Day Ride

    April 27, 2019, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ Start: Common Ground High School End: East Rock Park College Woods for The Green Fair and Climate Rally

    Massaro Community Farm will take part in the annual Rock to Rock Earth Day Ride in New Haven on Saturday April 27 and is looking for riders to join the Massaro MelonHead team. The farm is participating for the seventh year in a row and aims to raise $35,000 this year and build a team of 50 riders. The goal of the ride is to grow a greener, healthier, more just community through fundraising and participation, with over 25 local organizations receiving support from the ride, including Massaro Community Farm. The ride starts at Common Ground High School near West Rock Park and ends at East Rock Park. There are 5 different ride lengths to choose from— a 5-Mile Family Ride and a 12-Mile, 20-Mile, 40-Mile and Metric Century Ride. To join the team or make a donation, go to and find the Massaro MelonHead page. Last year the Massaro MelonHead team raised $31,530 from the ride for parking and infrastructure improvements and was the top fundraising team.
